Zoomaka

Zoomaka is a game I have have been looking forward to playing for a while, but have been delayed due to the business of life.

The game is currently on Kickstarter (here), and as I write this it has 3 days to go.  However, I have had the print-and-play version for a while, and have even had it printed for a while.  Tonight my wife and I finally found some time for games, and this was the first one we tried.

I have to be honest; print-and-play is not normally my thing.  I typically don't like to play games that have low-quality components.  And simply printing a game is about as low budget as it gets.  But with it not shipping until April 2018, there wasn't much choice!  I did splurge and print them at a decent quality and in colour.

Crop Cycle - Kickstarter

So this is a shameless plug for a kickstarter game, Crop Cycle

This is a game that I had a chance to play before the previous (unsuccessful) kickstarter campaign, and my review can be found here.  I enjoyed playing the game, and I am glad that the current campaign has been successful and I will be getting a copy!  I am also a strong believer in supporting Canadian developed content, and even more so when it is well done.

I also wouldn't mind having the enhanced cardstock (which is a stretch goal), so check it out!

Kickstarter and Print-and-Play

While I have yet to receive a project from Kickstarter, I have now supported a few and I am excited about them!

Kickstarter is something that I was very hesitant about at first.  As far as I can recall there is only one game in my collection that I bought before having played.  The majority of them are games that had been recommended by friends, and that I had tried with them a few times before deciding I liked it enough to go purchase it.

The first game I supported was Crop Cycle.  I actually had the chance to try and review a hard copy of the game before I supported it.  Although it is not the kind of game I normally play, it is a well designed game and Canadian made.  The campaign was not successful, but a re-launch is planned shortly and I am hoping it is successful this time!

The next game I supported was Artifacts, Inc.  I think the thing that caught my attention was the theme and amazing artwork displayed.  It was enough to get me to read the rules, and made me realize that this is a game I want to play!  This is the first game I got a print-and-play copy of, but more on that below.
